Kathryn Muller
History of My Heartis a multi-disciplinary artist and designer currently based in Asheville, NC. As a self-taught artist, Kathryn has gathered training from fellow artists, friends, an aunt with five decades of jewelry-making experience, and the invaluable lessons that come with experimentation and repeated failure. Her current work, focused in silversmithing, is heavily influenced by her training as a seamstress and clothing designer, marrying techniques and themes gathered from working with textiles over the last decade. She finds herself called to the drama and theater of dress and adornment; fascinated by the lasting artifactual nature of jewelry as a signifier of love, belonging, attachment, and ancestry.
